It all started with full moon nights, sound & movement, my mother, emotions, reactions, disturbances, Tom Waits, words, silences, Killdeering, Tom Spanbauer, fascination, exploration, many more thing and finally communication. But it was only after putting out the first album ‘Weather’s coming…’ in 2008 and meeting the musicians that would become The Short Straws that it all made sense. The songs became wild, bassy, vibrant through the live performances. After touring in Russia, Portugal, France, UK, Spain, Poland and Italy the band took a year out to write a 2nd album due to be released in 2011. Phoebe Killdeer.
